American Cheerleader

Hey! My name is Jessica and I’m the new intern for American Cheerleader magazine. I’m so excited to be right in the center of where my favorite magazine is produced! Ever since I can remember, my life has been about cheerleading. I was a cheerleader for 13 years, having cheered on my grammar school, high school and college teams, as well as 6 years for the Central Jersey All-stars. I’ve been coaching a Pop Warner team for 5 years now and have a passion for teaching others what I’ve learned from this awesome sport.

My other passion in life is writing. From the school paper to the novel I’m currently working on, I seem to always be jotting down ideas. Some of my goals for my time here at AC are to learn what it takes to create such a great magazine and gain insight on the world of journalism itself, as well as incorporate some new ideas for the mag from my cheer experience. I also hope to be able to soak in some of the experience the editors have gained throughout their careers and get some inside tips.

This internship couldn’t be a better fit and I’m eager to find out what’s to come! I can’t stress enough how thrilled I am to have such an amazing opportunity and to be working with so many former cheerleaders.
