Original film

2009 Remake
The master of horror, Wes Craven, crafted a truly horrifying film when he came up with The Last House on the Left in 1972. In fact, the film was so gruesome, the tagline “To avoid fainting keep repeating ‘It’s only a movie, it’s only a movie, it’s only a movie…’” Wes Craven’s debut film tells the story of three psycho ex-convicts who attack two young girls and then take refuge in one of the teen’s houses. When the victim’s parents find out who they are and what they’ve done, they set out to enact some revenge of their own.
SCARIEST SCENE: The whole freaking thing!!! But seriously, Sara Paxton (of “The Beautiful Life” & “Summerland”) gave a harrowing performance which, in my opinion, should have earned her some major acting awards.
SCARY STORY: I saw the remake when it was out in theaters and was so scared that I insisted on sleeping with the bathroom light on.

Seriously people...don't go to that house!
FUN & FREAKY FACTS:
* A mixture of red and blue food coloring combined with caramel syrup was used to make the fake blood used in the original movie.
* Actress Sandra Peabody was genuinely terrified during the filming of the original and even walked off the set at one point.
* The original The Last House on the Left was actually a remake of Ingmar Bergman’s Jungfrukallan (1960).
