If you’re like me and have more pairs of shoes than you can count, this blog is for you. It’s estimated that Americans have 1.5 billion pairs of unused shoes lying in their closets. (Mine aren’t just in my closet—they’re under my bed, in my hallway, in the nook by my radiator…) Well, now you can put those unused (or rarely used) shoes to a good purpose.
Now through December 24, all Mandee stores will be collecting donations of gently worn shoes. As a thank you for participation, each customer that donates will receive a 20% off coupon towards an item of her choice. It’s all a part of a partnership between Mandee and Soles4Souls, an international shoe charity dedicated to providing shoes to people in need.
So what are you waiting for? Dig through your closet, donate, and start shopping!

About Marisa Walker Growing up in Centerville, OH, cheerleading was my whole world—and with this job, it still is! I cheered all through junior high (with my mom as my coach) and high school (go, Alter Knights!). I coached, choreographed and taught camps all through college, while earning my degree in journalism at Ohio University, where I was the captain of the dance team. With my background, no one is ever surprised that this is what I do for a living. Once a cheerleader always a cheerleader, right? My job is so cool: It’s like being the captain of a super talented squad, all working their tails off to make something great happen. And to top it all off, I have the best readers in the world to learn from along the way: you guys!
