I actually like a scorpion into a double – twist cradle

it is kinda hard i think I have never done it but i think it looks cool and i know i would be able to do it in any position mostly flying

Wow, that stunt team is very talented. I loved how they saved the scorpion for the end, that is always the prettiest to me!

I tried this at my practice. I have done my Scorpion. That’s my best stunt. The next one would be my Heel Stretch. I am now practicing my Bow N Arrow at home when I stretch.

thats really cool! I am one of the flyers on my squad and I love it to death. we are going to try this in a couple days… so are there any suggestions on how I could stretch to make sure I am flexible enough?

This stunt is sooo cool! My favorite easy stunt is probobly just going into a bow n’ arrow.

  • Sami May 5, 2010 at 8:52 pm

Can anyone help me with my bow n arrow???

  • Rachel May 6, 2010 at 2:26 pm

For your bow n arrow, just keep stretching out your splits every night. Sometimes when I’m watching TV I’ll stretch them out for the whole commercial breaks just to make sure I stay flexible. Practice kicking up to heel stretch on the ground and gradually pulling it higher. For me, it’s easier to do in my cheer shoes, so that might help you.

I’m new to flying, any suggestions to help me stretch out?

  • Jessica Pribush Jun 4, 2010 at 3:13 pm

Yes, there are several things you can do. The most important and perhaps the easiest for a new flyer is to continue to do straddles every day (preferably more than once!). Make sure to work on your splits as well because once you have a split, you become much more flexible!

For heel stretches/bow and arrows, you can do lie down and lift/pull your flying leg up while keeping your other leg straight. This may be hard at first and you may not be able to lift it that high, but over time it will make it easier and you will definitely feel that pull! Also a very difficult, but worthwhile stretch involves using ankle weights. You can buy these at any sporting good store (Modell’s/Dick’s Sporting Goods). They are no more than ten dollars and they REALLY work for heel stretches and bow and arrows. You practice doing your heel stretches with the ankle weight on your heel stretch leg and kick it up and try to grab it. Trust me, you may not be able to do it at first, but over time you will be able to and it will make it so much easier once you take the ankle weights off.

For scorpions and arabesques, this is all about stretching your back out and making your back more flexible. Bridges are good for this, walking your hands to your feet while in a bridge is also beneficial. Practicing stepping on a block and doing this helps you feel like you are in the air as well. If you don’t have a block, a step works too! The ankle weights also work here, but as I said before can be very hard at first so don’t give up!

does anyone know any stretches to help me get into the splits? im not there yet!

  • sabrina Jul 10, 2010 at 5:45 am

you can make it level two by taking out the splits stuff and keeping it at prep and doing a straight cradle…but you could add a barrel roll after…
