Happy V-day to me!

February 8th, 2010 by Marisa Walker – Comments (0)

This year for Valentine’s Day, I’ll be on the road at a competition. Although I won’t be able to have a romantic date with my hubby, I still want to feel like I’m celebrating it in some way. So here’s what I’m treating myself to on February 14.

I’ll start my day in the shower with Glowology Bubbling Exfoliant, which is super luxe and bubbly—just right for spa-like treat in the hotel.

Next I’ll reach for Degree Girl Love invisible solid anit-perspirant/deodorant. It smells light and lovely (plus, I’ll be running around the competition venue all day—and I hate to let people see me sweat!).

For fun, I’ll paint my nails with Nicole by OPI Love Your Life, a sheer pink flecked with metallic pink hearts and multi-colored glitter. (This looks really cute over a brighter pink or an almost-white shade, too.)

To make it on my feet all day (and still keep in the cupid spirit), I’ll slip Foot Petals Tip Toes in my shoes—if it’s Valentine’s Day, I have to wear my heels!

Before I head out the door, I’ll spritz on Bath & Body Works P.S. I Love You Spring Fling fragrance, as a sweet reminder of my honey at home.

Even though I’ll have to wait for a V-day kiss, I still want to make sure I have fresh breath. I’ll keep a Binaca Fast Blast Breath Spray in my purse.

And when my very busy competition day is done, I’ll go back to my hotel room and light my absolutely delicious Godiva Strawberry Rose Candle. I may not be getting chocolates and flowers on February 14, but I can soak in the gorgeous aroma of chocolate-covered strawberries and a dozen red roses, 1,100 miles away from my dream date.

To top off V-day? I’ll call my husband and tell him I love him. :)

What’s the most romantic thing you’ll do for Valentine’s Day? Let me know!

About Marisa Walker
Growing up in Centerville, OH, cheerleading was my whole world—and with this job, it still is! I cheered all through junior high (with my mom as my coach) and high school (go, Alter Knights!). I coached, choreographed and taught camps all through college, while earning my degree in journalism at Ohio University, where I was the captain of the dance team. With my background, no one is ever surprised that this is what I do for a living. Once a cheerleader always a cheerleader, right? My job is so cool: It’s like being the captain of a super talented squad, all working their tails off to make something great happen. And to top it all off, I have the best readers in the world to learn from along the way: you guys!
