American Cheerleader was on the scene April 23, 2010 at the International Cheer Union (ICU) World Championships in Orlando. If you haven’t heard of the ICU, you have to check it out! Each member country sends one team (per division) to compete in an Olympics-type setting. We were so proud of Team USA, who took home the gold medal in Coed Premier and All-Girl Premier. We met so many amazing athletes from all over the world, and there was an atmosphere of sportsmanship and mutual admiration that we wish we’d see at every competition. Stay tuned for recaps, photos and more, and in the meantime, check out the results below.

Thank you guys for being part of this awesome experience!
I`m part of Team Costa Rica and for us this was prety much all we expected since that was our first participation. Great teams, very cool rutines, warm and nice people around the whole activity… Nice job! Hope to see you next year guys!

I was on the team USA all-girl squad both last year and this past year, and all I can say is that there is NOTHING bigger than representing your country in the only true International competition for cheerleading….

Go USA! First place in everything… except the coed partner stunt, which struck me as a little odd that we placed so low.
