We are so sick of the misleading and inaccurate headlines claiming “cheerleading is the most dangerous sport.” We went to the experts from the USA Cheer Safety Council to set the story straight. This month, USA Cheer launched the USA Cheer Safety Council to raise the awareness of cheerleading safety and education, address misconceptions about injuries, and provide data to ensure proper training of athletes.

We sent our safety questions to Dr. Jeffrey Dugas of the American Sports Medicine Institute (ASMI) and Bill Seely, executive director of USA Cheer, who give us the real deal when it comes to cheer safety.
