Fun Fact: This Disney star’s first interview was done by one of AC’s editors!
AC: Was audition for “Shake It Up”the first Disney show you ever tested for?
BT: It was actually. I’ve never done comedy before, I’d only done drama.
AC: Do you feel like comedy comes naturally to you?
BT: I have to work at it. I think drama comes more natural to me.
AC: You dance a lot on “Shake It Up.” Does that help you stay fit?
BT: Yeah. It involves a lot of cardio, and I think that’s great. I also eat a lot of fruits and vegetables. Spinach is one of my favorites. It’s so good with a little bit of salt.
AC: Were you a dancer before the show?
BT: No, I didn’t even know what an 8-count was! It was pretty sad.
AC: What do you love about dancing?
BT: I love that you get to express yourself through different movements. I think hip-hop is really cool.
AC: Who are some of your favorite artists to perform to?
BT: I like to dance to Enrique Iglesias because he has a lot of fast beat songs, and Lil Wayne because he’s beautiful and amazing and….yeah.
AC: Is he your celeb crush?
BT: Maybe a little.
AC: So you like rap then?
BT: I’m actually pretty good at it. I love performing.
AC: Your outfits on “Shake It Up” are so cute. Do you have any say in your character’s wardrobe?
BT: I have basically 85% say of what my character wears. I’ve even made outfits from scratch to wear on the show.
AC: We heard you’re a natural blonde. Why’d you go red?
BT: I dyed it for a role, then booked “Shake It Up,” so now I have to be a redhead. I feel like I’m still a blonde though, because I’m ditsy, but also spunky.
AC: Why do you think that it’s important for young women to be involved in sports like cheerleading?
BT: I always wanted to be a cheerleader but I never got to. We did have a cheerleading episode on our show and I was really excited about that. Let me just say that I found out cheering is really hard.
