AC: You’ve been in the industry for quite a while now. How do you maintain a healthy body image?

Christa B. Allen: It’s all about confidence in who you are. You can’t look at somebody else and say, “I want that body type,” because that’s not you. You just have to learn yourself, learn what’s beautiful for you, and learn how to work it.

AC: Are there any pieces in your wardrobe that make you feel confident, or you always have to have on?

CBA: Great shoes. The higher they are the better. The shoes make the outfit. I start from the shoes and work up from there.

AC: Do you have any advice for staying in shape?

CBA: Do something you enjoy and it won’t seem like a workout.

AC: Why do you think that it’s important for young women to be involved in sports like cheerleading?

CBA: I think, if nothing else, it builds a great sense of community. I was never a cheerleader, but my brother was. He was incredibly close to his flyer. The trust they had for one another, trying new tricks, and her trusting him to catch her… it was pretty rare relationship. I also know girls who grew up on a cheering and they’ve maintained those friendships for life.

AC: Have any celebrities given you advice about the industry?

CBA: When I was twelve I did a movie called “13 Going on 30,” and I met Jennifer Garner, who I was playing the younger version of. She told me not to let acting consume my life and to make sure I had plenty of other passions, because that’s what you draw from in the characters you portray on screen. I think that’s the most important advice I’ve gotten.

AC: You’ve come along way since then. Can you tell us about your new show, “Revenge”?

CBA: I play Charlotte Grayson. The plot is all about payback, but for all the right reasons. And I think there’s a character that everybody can relate to It’ll be a fun show—lots of drama.

AC: “Revenge” is set in the Hamptons. Do you guys get to go shoot there at all?

CBA: No, we’re shooting this in Manhattan Beach, so it’s coast.

AC: Has there ever been a time when you’ve wanted revenge?

CBA: There’ve been a lot of skeptics out there telling me that “everybody and their brother wants to be an actor…good luck.”  I was like, “OK, you watch. I’m gonna do this.” And I did.

AC: Are you working on any other projects besides your show?

CBA: I actually just completed a film called Detention of the Dead. It’s a zombie comedy and was amazing to work on.
