LA, here I come!

Happy Monday, friends!

This week I’m busier than usual because I’m in LA! My band is laying down a new record out here and we’ve been working really hard on it. Stay tuned to my blog for updates and sneak peaks of the new tunes.

Which brings me to my blog theme. The hardest part of preparing, for this trip—without a doubt—is packing for it. Before leaving, I took almost every article of clothing out of my closet and put it back in in an attempt to pick out a few outfits. Then, there’s the shoe-lemma. How do I pick from an array of flats, heels, wedges, and boots, the perfect three pairs (my mom put a cap on my packing) for a whole week? Learning to pack light is hard. I remember packing for Nationals three years in a row and wanting to bring everything I owned. So here’s a few tips I’ve picked up along the way when it comes to giving yourself options, but not exceeding that 50lb. suitcase limit!

1. Jeans. You’ll definitely need jeans, so bring two to three pairs that you can wear more than once and it won’t be totally obvious. They’ll take up a lot of room in your suitcase, so don’t waste space bringing too many!

2. Tops and Camisoles. Brings tops that you can dress up or down. Don’t get strapped into having limited options, because you never know what could happen while you’re away. And for those tops, you will need camis wherever you go. They’re easy to pack, so make sure you bring the basics: black, white, brown, etc.!

3. Shoes. Alright, it’s our weakness. So let’s compromise. One flat, one heel, one boot? It’s a deal. I think I can make do!

Alright. Hopefully that will be enough for a week full of being in the recording studio! Wish me luck.

Cheers!
