All Access with Jasmine: Music to My Ears
Hey AC readers! I hope your month has been full of love because mine sure has! This past weekend I celebrated my 21st birthday and I must say it was the best birthday ever. Of course my cheerleading friends played a huge part in this weekend because they are practically my family. I am so glad I got to spend time with all of them on my birthday!
Lots of exciting things have been going on in terms of my cheerleading life as well. As many of you know, I am on the Small Coed competition team at the University of Georgia, or as we like to call it, Smalldawgs! We have been working out the kinks in our routine and getting better overall as the season progresses. However, our portion of Georgia was faced with an unfortunate snowstorm last week, which interfered with a few of our practices. Since we were unable to practice last week, my stunt group decided to meet extra to work on our stunt sequence. This week, the Smalldawgs will be playing catch-up to try and make up for lost time. There is no time to lose if we want that National Championship to come back to UGA!
Besides listening to the wintery mix of sleet and snowfall on my window last week, I also got to hear another sweet sound that was music to my ears. Every cheerleader knows what it’s like to anticipate your team’s music for the season. It is like waiting for Christmas to come back around! While I was cooped up in my apartment with my cheerleading roommates, we couldn’t help but get excited when we found out that our music was done. Our extreme cabin fever and boredom from being trapped inside all day caused an uproar from our team begging to hear the music. After much pleading, our coach finally gave in! Once the music was posted, we were so excited that it only made sense for us to mark the routine! So my roommates and I cleared out the living room, pushed the couches to the side and went full out! Right there in the living room! Haha, just kidding, but we did mark through it! We had a great time and we absolutely love our music. If you’re wondering where you can find our latest cheer mix, then look no further because you probably won’t hear it until Daytona. Just know that it’s awesome Have a wonderful week everyone!
