U-S-A! U-S-A!

I am such an Olympic fanatic. I will watch every sport (well, almost), but as a former gymnast myself, I am OBSESSED with Olympic gymnastics. So last night's All-Around Women's Gymnastics Finals were the peak of my 2008 Olympic viewing experience (and we're only halfway through the games!). This is a bold statement, considering the massive crush I have developed on swimmers Michael Phelps and Ryan Lochte, but it's true.

I am so proud of our American Olympic champions: gold medalist Nastia Liukin and silver medalist Shawn Johnson. Nastia's artistry and Shawn's power were amazing, but the 1-2 victory was even sweeter because of the girls' friendship. Did you know that Shawn and Nastia have been roommates throughout the Olympic games? Did you hear them cheering each other on last night? It was awesome, and it reminded me of one of my favorite aspects of cheer competition season: the sportsmanship.

If you missed last night's competition (it was SO late!), you can catch the performances again tonight on NBC. Check your local listings or visit nbcolympics.com for times.

Go Team USA!
