Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment (TCFHE) and the National Association for Music Education (NAfME) announced today “GLEE Give a Note,” a campaign to donate $1,000,000 to school arts programs across the country.
I’m Desirée Coleman, AC’s newest intern! I’m so ecstatic to be joining such a talented team of fellow writers and cheerleaders this fall. As a senior in college at the Fashion Institute of Technology (which is across the street from the AC offices), I’m working towards earning my Bachelor’s Degree in advertising and marketing communications. Writing is my number one passion, and through the world of communications I hope to find my niche as an author, journalist and songwriter.
September 9th is National School Spirit Day! And as a partner of Varsity, Degree Girl is excited that its Degree Girl Varsity Awards is still open for entries for two more weeks! What better way to recognize National School Spirit Day than celebrate the hard work of cheer and dance teams around the country?!
American Cheerleader magazine and Got Milk? have teamed up with actress Ashley Tisdale to kick off the “Be Strong Challenge.” The contest encourages cheerleading teams from across the country to film a short video explaining how lowfat chocolate milk helps them “Be Strong.”

Today is the very sad day that I must say goodbye to the entire American Cheerleader family! (If it weren’t for my college cheerleading preseason beginning this weekend, I would love to stay for the remainder of the summer!) As one of their interns, I had the opportunity to experience a bustling and professional environment at their magazine office in NYC.
