Front Handspring Up

STEP 1: SET

TOP: Set in a position ready to execute a basic Handstand with one foot in front.

MAIN BASE: In a squat, start in front of the stunt ready to catch the top girl.

SECONDARY BASE: Make a basket grip by grabbing the wrists of the back spot. Set in a squat.

BACK SPOT: Make a basket grip by grabbing the wrists of the secondary base. Set in a squat where the main base would normally be positioned.

Step 2

 

STEP 2: HANDSTAND

TOP: Staying tight through the shoulders, reach for a controlled Handstand. Keep your hands close to the feet of your bases.

MAIN BASE: Begin reaching toward the right toe and thigh as the top girl flips forward.

SECONDARY BASE: Position your basket grip near the back of your top girl.

BACK SPOT: Position your basket grip near the back of your top girl.

 

STEP 3: FLATBACK

TOP: Squeeze your core as you come to the flat black position. Your body should be flat and controlled the entire time.

MAIN BASE: As the top girl flips from her Handstand, quickly grab the toe and back of the thigh.

SECONDARY BASE: Once the top’s back reaches your basket grip, dip with your legs and use the momentum of the flip to drive upward.

BACK SPOT: Once the top’s back reaches your basket grip, dip with your legs and use the momentum of the flip to drive upward.

 

Step 4STEP 4: PRESS & CATCH

TOP: Your bases will use your momentum to push through your hips and drive the stunt up. Keep your body tight and your feet together as you hit an Awesome at the top.

MAIN BASE: As the stunt dips, push up on the thigh and use the hand guiding the toe to press up in a “J” motion. On the way up, position your body underneath the stunt in the standard main base position.

SECONDARY BASE: After the toss, extend your arms all the way to the top, reaching for the foot closest to you. Step in close to the main base as you catch the top’s foot in an Awesome.

BACK SPOT: After the top girl leaves your hands, keep your arms up. Reach for the top’s ankles to support the stunt and pull up.
