US Nat’l Team Training Blog: Day 8
I can’t believe it, but we’re already through 8 days of training and will be competing at ICU Worlds this week! With only a few days left of practices, we have our music, a dance and our entire routine is set!
Blake Johnson, one of the best choreographers in the country, came in over the weekend to give us a fast-paced dance and to spice up the routine with plenty of additions. Not only has he made it a blast to perform, but he’s also been an amazing source of support for us. His energy and personality inspired us to raise the bar of the most elite all girl program across the globe and to leave the audience with a performance they won’t forget.
With competition day looming, the pressure is on to start hitting our full-out routine. We’ve run the routine with limited skills up until this point, but today’s the day we will go full-out.
If you’re in Florida this week, Cocoa Beach High School is hosting a dress rehearsal performance for us on Tuesday, April 19th. USA Coed and USA All Girl will perform our routines one final time before we head to Orlando for the ICU World Cheerleading Championships.
It’s hard to believe that we’re almost through training, but I feel completely confident in these teams. USA Cheer will make a statement this year. I can’t wait for everyone to see!
